Firm settings
Where your firm shapes how the platform works and how it looks to clients.
Settings is where your firm shapes two things: how the platform works for your team, and how the firm appears to its clients. The tabs run across the top of the page, each one a different surface to configure.
Most of what lives here is firm-wide, so who can change it matters. Attorneys and admins can edit; other staff see the same screens with the controls read-only and a note pointing them to an attorney or admin to make a change. A few settings are personal to you, your appearance and a default billing rate, and you set those for yourself whatever your role. Two tabs appear only once a condition is met: Scheduling shows up after you've connected a calendar, and Billing after the firm has connected its payment account.
Making it yours
The Brand tab controls how the firm looks everywhere a client meets it. You upload a logo, set the firm's display name and an optional tagline, choose the colors clients see, and name the city that appears in client-facing footers.
Colors come as a pair. The primary color is the accent clients see across the portal and intake forms: it tints buttons and section accents. The primary foreground color is what's drawn on top of that accent, the text and icons on a colored button, usually white or near-black. Setting the two together keeps everything readable. You can pick each from a swatch or type a hex code.
The logo takes effect the moment you select it; the name, tagline, colors, and city are saved together when you click Save changes. As you edit, a live preview beside the form shows how the portal header and footer will read, so you see the result before saving. To take a logo down, click Remove.
This branding follows the firm wherever clients meet it: your logo and name in the portal header, the tagline below, the city in the footer. Public intake forms carry the same look, and signed documents show the firm's logo and name in the page header.
Connections
The Integrations tab is where the firm connects the outside services that make day-to-day work possible. Each connection shows its current status, the form or summary you need, and the buttons to set it up or disconnect. The firm-wide connections and your personal calendar are all visible to everyone but configurable only by attorneys and admins.
Connect the firm's payment account so clients can pay invoices by card. Setup runs through a short guided flow to connect the account; once it's done, the tab shows whether the account is ready to accept payments and links you through to the receivables board and the billing account surface for everyday management.
By default, the firm's client mail sends from a shared platform address. To
send from your own domain instead, enter a sender address (such as
mail@yourfirm.com) and follow the on-screen steps to verify it with your
domain. Once verification clears, client mail goes out from the firm's own
address. You can change the address later, keeping the verified domain, or
disconnect to fall back to the shared one.
By default, signing requests for the engagement letter come from a shared platform sender too. To send them in the firm's name instead, enter a sender email and the firm's signer name, then confirm the address from the verification email and check the status. (If you miss that email, you can resend it.) Once it's confirmed, requests go out under the firm's own name and address. The signing request also carries the firm's logo and colors, so it stays on-brand if you update them.
Connect a cloud drive and choose a folder where each matter's documents mirror automatically. The tab shows the destination folder, how many documents are waiting to mirror, and when the mirror last ran. You can change the folder, send a test file to confirm it's working, reconnect if the connection lapses, or disconnect to stop mirroring.
Connect a personal Google or Microsoft calendar to receive consult bookings. With it connected, prospects can book a consultation and the appointment lands on your calendar with a video conference attached. From here you can jump to scheduling to set when you're available.
Your team and roles
The Staff tab is the firm's roster. You invite a new member by entering their email, an optional name, and a role: Attorney, Admin, or Staff. They get an email with a sign-in link and setup instructions, and once they accept they appear as active staff.
The three roles set what a person can do. Attorneys and admins can edit firm-wide settings, invite and manage staff, and configure the firm's connections; staff, the catch-all role, work in the console but don't change firm settings. The roster lists each member with their role and join date, shows whether they've added extra sign-in security, and lists any pending invitations with when they were sent and when they expire.
You can edit a member's name or role from their row, though not your own role from your own row. One guardrail holds: the firm must always keep at least one attorney or admin, so you can't demote the last one.
Availability
Once you've connected a calendar in Integrations, the Scheduling tab appears and lets you set how prospects book a consultation with you: the windows you're available, how long a consultation runs, and the buffer between back-to-back meetings. Changes apply to your booking page right away, and a Preview link shows the page a prospect will use. The booking itself, and what happens after it, are covered in scheduling.
Billing account
After the firm's payment account is connected, a Billing tab appears for managing the account itself. It shows whether the account is ready to accept payments and gives you a place to manage account details and tax documents. Clients never see this tab; what they see is the firm's branding when they pay an invoice. The invoicing and payments flow is covered in billing.
Legal insurance
If the firm submits claims to legal-insurance plans, the Insurance tab keeps the list of providers it works with. You can switch on a built-in set of common plan administrators, or add your own custom providers (a regional plan, an employer-sponsored arrangement) with a name, a default submission method, a claims email, a portal link, and any notes. Whichever providers you enable appear in the coverage picker when staff record a matter's insurance.
The tab also shows a payment-performance table: for each provider, a recent measure of how long claims typically take to be paid. It fills in as the firm records insurance payments, so admins can see which plans tend to pay faster. This tab is firm-internal; clients never see it.
Preferences
The Preferences tab holds your personal settings, and it's open to everyone. You can switch the staff console between light and dark appearance, and set a default hourly billing rate that pre-fills the rate field whenever you log a time entry (you can override it on any single entry, or clear it by leaving the field blank). These apply only to you and stick across sessions; the appearance choice never affects what clients see.
